Stradbroke Island is actually 2 islands which is just off the northern end of the Gold Coast and south of Brisbane. South Stradbroke Island is approx 22 km by 2.5 km in size and is the smaller one of the two Stradbroke Islands. South Stradbroke Island lies very close to the mainland. South Stradbroke Island is separated by the Jumpinpin Channel from the larger North Stradbroke Island. The islands live on tourism and is close to the tourist hub of the Gold Coast.
