The gateway to the Capricorn Coast is the seaside village of Yeppoon, well known for its laid back hospitality. Only thirty minutes drive from Rockhampton, you'll find beachfront dining and sheltered swimming. Drop into the sailing club for a cold beer; wander along the picturesque esplanade with its lush palms and backdrop of sea, sky and islands. Browse through the many quaint art and craft shops and boutiques. Pick up some tropical fruit a special souvenir or local arts and crafts, or indulge in a massage in a shady tent.
There aren't a lot of accommodation choices in the Yeppoon region, although there is the Rydges Capricorn Resort which is a family favourite and also very popular with the locals.
